Dates. The first edition of RED LINE – International Film Festival will take place in MONTALCINO from June the 13th to June the 16th 2024. 
Objectives. The festival aims to constitute a meeting point for cutting-edge National and International cinema. The festival’s purpose is to promote cinematography and to give value as an expressive and story-telling means, as well as a way of knowledge and in depth-analysis of reality.
Organizers. Il festival is organized by Iniziative di Solidarietà – OdV- and Office Number Four.
Festival Sections. The Festival is divided in the following sections:
– International Features Competition (for films of any genre, length: more than 60 minutes).
– International Short Competition (for films of any genre, length: up to 20 minutes).
– “Territorio” (for films of any genre filmed within Montalcino municipality area).      

The festival direction will nominate an international jury that will bestow the following awards:
– Best Feature Film: € 1200;
– Best Documentary Film: € 700;
– Best Short Film: € 600;

The festival direction will nominate an jury that will bestow the following awards:  
– Best Film for “Territorio” section: € 200  
Furthermore, a mention will be assigned by a jury of students of the local high schools.  
No rental or screening fees will be paid for selected films.
Program. The Festival programme may will includes: tributes and retrospectives, workshops, debates, focus, special events.   
Film registration and deadline.   The registration procedure and the present regulation can be found on the festival official website www.redlinefilmfestival.com. Film registration must be completed on the website www.filmfreeway.com. Registrations open AUGUST 1, 2023. Copyright holders of the films who intend to participate in the Festival must register by and no later than MARCH 15, 2024. Registration for film in “Territorio” section must be registered by and no later than  April 15, 2024.
Selection. The selection of the films, which is final and binding, is conducted by the Festival direction. For “International feature competition” and “International short competition” films will be considered only if completed after January 1st, 2023 (or premiered after that date).
Filmmakers and/or Producers will be notified of the results of the selection starting from April 20, 2024. For selection screenings all films have to be submitted in their original version with English subtitles. unless the original version of the film is Italian. Films in Italian language can be submitted in their original versions without subtitles. In case of selection for the festival English subtitles will be required.      
The festival will only accept the submission of a film if the submitter is the holder of all usage rights to the film necessary for the submission and use of the film within the context of participation in the festival, and if the submitter can also effectively grant the festival these rights.
The festival reserves the right to demand appropriate proof of these rights and to reject the submission upon failure to provide it.      
Producers, distributors and other people or organizations submitting a film must ensure that any third parties connected to the production agree to its participation in the festival.
Film screenings. The program and screening times will be established by the Festival Organizers. Each film could be screened up to 7 times during the festival and in the following 3 months, exclusively within Montalcino municipal area.
Foreign films will be screened in their original version with Italian/English subtitles. For non-Italian speaking films, the producers are invited to provide an English subtitle file.        
The Festival Organizers will publish a digital catalog of all the participating films. Copyright holders of the films participating in the Festival are asked to deposit the file sent for the selection process in the Festival Archive, for research purposes only.    
No film may be withdrawn from the festival programme after its participation has been publicly announced.
Selected Film: screening copy format. In case of selection, the expected projection format must be approved by the Programming Office of the Festival. Video should be without subtitles, subtitles files should be provided in .srt or .stl format in order to allow subtitling.
Selected Film: requested material. In case of selection, materials must be  sent as following:
– 1 copy of the film with the final editing of the film (to prepare subtitles).
– 1 subtitle file: .srt o .stl. 1 trailer of the film, for promotional purposes, with publishing authorization (web and other media).
– Director’s statement concerning his/her working for the film (English and/or Italian);
– English synopsis;
– Director’s biography, in English (max 400 characters, spaces included);
– Director’s filmography, in English (list of titles and year of production);
– Photographic documentation with publishing authorization:  2 images of the film 300 dpi in JPEG format, 7 cm wide (for promotion on the web); 3 to 5 images of the film in jpg/tif/eps/pdf at 300 dpi, 20 cm wide (for press catalogue). Each photo should be labelled with the film title and a number (e.g. film_title1.jpg; film_title2.jpg).
– Complete and final list of dialogues, including any voice off (post-production script) and list of subtitles (if any), in English and, if possible, in Italian (with timecode).
– Any other information that may be useful for selection purposes.          

If possible, the submitter should provide also a film poster in electronic form (300dpi JPG of 13×18 cm), and five printed copies no larger than A0 format.
This material will be used for the purpose of editorial coverage of the festival.
General Rules. Shipping costs to and from Montalcino will be covered by the entrant, except when other agreements have been made with the Festival Organizers. These regulations have been drawn up in Italian and English. In case of dispute, the Italian version will be final. Application for entry to the Festival constitutes unconditional agreement to all the regulations herein. The Festival Organizers reserve the right to make decisions on matters not specified herein. Any legal disputes shall fall under the jurisdiction of Court of Siena, Italy.
